No, it’s not a typo, the 30km event in 2020 is starting at 10.30am. Why? Safety of course!
- We want it to be a challenge… but not TOO much of a challenge! Wild weather and abnormal swell is hard to predict, but we can predict tides… and high tide will impact our event in 2020. By starting the 30km later, more of you will be able to experience the full magic of the Portsea back beach after the high tide hits. If a stormy swell greets us on event day and when night falls, don’t worry – we have an alternative transport option available to transfer trekkers from Sorrento SLSC to Portsea SLSC…. but only for a little way … and then it’s back to trekking.
- Sunset on the peninsula! We’re all about giving our Coastrekkers the MOST epic experience, and we’ve been told that watching the sunset from Point Nepean is one of the highlights of Coastrek – especially because this area is not open to the public after sunset. By moving the start time, more of you will get to experience the magic of Mornington by moonlight.
